I have a Windows 2000 Server, running DNS. I use Runner to control my SOF2 server game. I have an ASUS router running NAT. I have ports UDP 20100-20110 forwarded to the int IP of the server.

The game runs fine from within the LAN, but cannot get listed in master server, nor can clients connect by entering an IP address from Internet.

Everything was fine whilst I had problems with DNS config, since I fixed it both this game, and Roger Wilco Base Station have stopped working externally. (Not 100% sure if it is DNS related)

Roger Wilco only uses UDP port 3783 - this is was also working fine until the "DNS Fix"

Any ideas?

Thanks everyone...

NB, this problem has only happened within the last week or two.

if u can join the server inside the lan, but not from outside then its a firewall problem.

there must be something still blocking the connection on thoes ports.

Sorry, also Roger Wico has same problem. No NAT alterations have been made since it was working.

Thanks for any advise,

OK, No other firewall - only the one NAT. All machines running W2K.

Ports forwarded to 192.168.1.200 (server IP)

Game is set to default.

This is really bazaar. Do you have any knowledge of DNS? It is running on the same server as game. Would this make a difference? Server is not reporting any faults in event viewer.

Please keep thinking,

since its affecting rw as well its definetly a network issue somewhere.

since the lan works then the issue must be with the nat blocking external connections, or the server not accepting connections from the nat  ???

try puting the server in the dmz or connecting it directly to the net.

if ur server is doing the dns, has this been disabled in the nat?
