*bump*

I think this would be a good thread to make sticky.  It took me a while to figure this out, and I couldn't find any information on it anywhere else.  I think other Linux admins could benefit from it.

Excellent script.

Question?

Can this be configured in a web type interface so that you could also do server restarts?

Spike my man, could you elaborate a little on the web script?

Also I didnt think there was a rcon restart command.

I want guys to be able to restart through a web interface so I dont necessarily have to give them rcon and they dont have to download bunch programs.  All they would need is a password to the web interface or script or whatever.  Know what I mean?

Thanks

rcon does not have a restart command, but it does have quit, which is where the script above comes in, so u quit the server via rcon, then the restart script will kick it back in to life.

if u dont want to give them the rcon password then its still possible.

u just hardcode the password in to the wbescript, assuming thye dont have ftp access or anything.

then just use htaccess to protect the webpage

all the script would have to do is send a udp packet to the server, with the message:
Code Sample
ÿÿÿÿrcon password quit

subsituting password for ur password,

then the server would close, the other script would detect this and restart it.

it can be done in php but im not sure about other web scripting languages

Awesome, thanks!

Another thing.  If someone is banned with the old rcon banclient command, is there a way to unban them?  I know PB can but I have someone that was banned with the old command by accident and can't seem to recover them.

when does it say hes banned? at the server connect screen or once the map has loaded?

at the connect screen its the banlist and the raven guid
after the map has loaded its the pb ban list and the pb guid.

Its before it loads.  When he clicks on join it says right away BANNED at bottom of screen.  I have done a banlist for the Raven and he is not listed.  His guid nor his ip that I can find. However there also seems to be a bunch of codes in the list which I dont know what they are.  Whenever I try to do a remove ban or remove guid or ip or whatever it always says no such name/ip/guid etc can be found.  I have done this for both pb and raven lists just in case hes just not showing up in the lists.  But they all say hes not banned yet he still gets the banned notice and cant join.  Doesnt make sense!
