Seems that Nullsoft will stop developping and giving support for WinAmp 3.0 pretty soon, as 2.9 will go final next week. Then, next summer, you can expect a brand new version of WinAmp... 5.0. Read more here: WinAmp

I like the 2.x.x series more than the 3.x., 3.x was too bloated, and all the visual effects and skins were lost. People are reluctant to upgrade when compatiblity is broken.

Thank god I hated winamp3. I hope 2.9 is as good as 2.81 and they didn't frick anything up

Lets just hope winamp "5" isn't a sloth loading version of Winamp 2. Part of the reason I didn't upgrade was 1. it was slow to load, 2 plugin compatibility 3. media library.

I like it. But they still havn't fixed only getting the top 200 stations on shoutcast. The only stations I listen to never get are never an option then.

3.x sucked, it couldnt handle my gigantic mp3 list 2.x works fine though much better than windows-SPY-MediaPlayer
