Do you plan on helping the hundreds of us who are having constant crashes from your game?  Surely we deserve another patch by now, it's beyond a joke, I can't play for longer than 10 minutes without a crash.

I get the same as everyone else, game locks up, sound repeats, then the windows XP program error dialog with the send to microsoft button.

This isn't PB related as I've done a pb_cl_disable, and tried to play on a non pb server, it locked up after less than 10 minutes.

Everything was fine either before I got my Audigy, or before patch 1.03.  Either way, it's high time it got fixed, I don't see how I'm supposed to play this game in money comps and on the GA ladder with this constant crashing.

My system specs are:
AMD Athlon 1900+
Gigabyte GA-7VRXP (rev 1.1)
Winfast GeForce 4 MX 440
Creative Audigy 6.1
512 meg pc 2700 ram

Just like everyone else, I used to play this game fine, I've tried every fix out there to no avail, I also know my way around PB pretty well since I've been playing RtCW for about 14 months now (never ever had a crash in wolf btw).

So please, can we have a fix for a game I dished out my hard earned cash for?

And before some of you pipe up and say oh but I have never had any crashes.... I don't really care.  For every one of you's on this board theres like 3 times as many people having the same problems I'm having.

If you're crashing in MP without PB, you have a problem on your end.
If you disable PB, you have to restart the game. Also, have you tried pb_system 1. Type that in the console before joining a server.
Your false statements that 3 times as many people are crashing than not does nothing to get your game/system working properly.

Why does say that it's not PB mean it's a problem at my end?  Why can't that mean it's a problem at Raven's end?

I've tried pb_system 1, doesn't seem to make any difference.

My "false" statement was based on the top thread, which has bucket loads of people with still un resolved issues similar to mine.

Oh yeah, also, I disabled the audigy and used on board sound (Creative AudioPCI chip), and it crashed like usual.  Whether the on board sound chip was using the audigy drivers i'm not sure, but i couldnt be bothered removing all the drivers.

Also, I've reinstalled the game many times, run pbweb all the time, I've even reformatted twice.  Nothing helps.  Doens't make a difference between DX 8 and 9.  Tried many version of detonator drivers, including some fairly old ones from when I used to run this game stable.  And right now I've stopped using detonators and am using omega drivers instead, nothing changes anything.

WinXP Pro Corp. edition, no difference between no SP and SP1

Oh yeah, no heat problem as I run a Athlon 1900+ with a volcano 7+ on it, not o/c'ed, with 4 high speed 80mm fans in a $AU 300 case.  I know it's not overheating.  And if that was the case wolf would constantly crash out aswell as sof.

The crash is the same as this one which I ripped from another thread:

Oh yeah and I've tried every compatibility mode, and played with pb_sleep changed to countless combinations, and played around with pb_security along with pb_system.  Nothing at all helps it.

I've also canned all the running creative processes, in fact almost all running processes and nothing helped.

Can you download the following application and run it?  It will take quite a while to run but will tell you if your installation is corrupt at all.

http://sof2.ravensoft.com/downloads/wiser2.exe

If any files are bad you can try cleaning off your cdroms and either manually copying the files or reinstalling the game.

have u tried different drivers for ur audigy?
did u remove all previous sound card drivers before installing the audigy ones?
