Crytek's upcoming game looks amazing and has been building alot of hype recently. If you have a pretty decent speed connection, check out the demo movie:

http://www.filefront.com/?filepa....ine.exe

The game editor looks easy to use, and you can test your modifications on the fly. Also liked the look of the "ragged doll" physics too.

this engine seems to almost have it all. The deformable terrain wasn't even something they bothered to hype up - the engine simply has it, which is uber-cool. I liked the swinging light FX as well - very well done. And the outdoor terrains....wow.....long distance views with fogging so far away as to be barely noticeable.

Awesome.

Tasty :)

Some of the large outdoor areas look like they have kinda washed out textures, but overall, it looks pretty good.

Doom3 is not really all that 'realistic' I don't want to play a tactical combat game where I have to develop tactics against weird lookin half dead zombie mutant things.

This is going to sound... twisted, but I'm all about fraggin humans. Virtual humans that is.  :;):

EDIT: Forgot to mention... Far Cry looks pretty. So pretty. So obcenely pretty. Like... I want to have it's baby.

I wish Operation Flashpoint had been more popular when it came out.  That game rocked.

Yeah, I think the bad netcoding killed it. It was a GREAT game. I spent hours stealing the russain helicopter in the demo. A)To see if I could and B) Because it was there.

When I finally got the thing it was like... bingo fuel and almost no armament at all. :/ I worked hard for the 15 minutes I flew that puppy around though, and it was worth every minute. :D

The editor for the game was pretty cool - so you could just plop down all the hardware - tanks, helis, cars, explosives and just play with it.

I loved to arrange Skodas and Trabrants in circles around some satchel charges and blow them into the sky.

Missile and flare effects at night were nothing short of spectacular.

And the sound code...sound actually traveled.  I loved that.
You'd see an explosion off in the distance, and then hear it a moment or two later.
Supersonic sniper rounds could hit you before you heard the sound of them being fired.

Hrm.  I'm going to have to reinstall it just to play around some more.
