when i breeze through new or unknown pub servers, i notice this as well. don't know if it's kids or what. i also get tired of lack of courtesy, especially with tk... i mean, dam, it takes how long to type "sry", and it makes everything warm and fuzzy. anytime i don't get apology, i start to think it was intentional. i think sry is also advisable even if it wasn't your fault, ie dead nade, idiot running in front, etc. keeps from starting "revenge" tk when they think i did it on purpose.
as for the "Cheat" cries, ffs get over it dudes. you got owned and that's it. people have called me a cheat, and everyone here that has played me knows that's about as far from fact as can be. NOBODY cheats that poorly.
i have begun playing most of the time on just a few servers that are populated with cool guys, and that are (coincidentally) well administered. people that biscuit eater are tossed. good enuf for me |

I completely agree with you guys. I have been playing since release and the community has steadily declined. No one apologizes for TKs any more. Last night, some guy said that he won't apologize because accidental nade kills happen all of the time. It's common courtesy, people.
And quit bitching about the USAS. I don't like using it, but don't flame people that do. The gun has no range whatsoever, so if you are getting killed by it constantly, it's your own fault. If you can't deal, go to a server that has it banned.
Be a responsible voter. If someone complains about someone tking, look at their tk percentage before voting. It should be pretty apparent that they are tking. The other day, some guy on my team was tking all of us, but would stop short of 100%. I called a vote 3 times to kick him and explained why, but most people just didn't vote. The guy never got kicked.
Finally, if someone kills you with a nice shot, let them know. It's a nice contrast to the constant complaining and flaming that goes on. |

| Quote (Supersonic @ Mar. 05 2003, 1:27 pm) | | I love the guys that toss a fire nade in front of an attack or in front of the flag carrier while they are trying to get out of the enemy base. that is my favorite idiot move that Ive seen lately. Guess Ill have to go back to playing later in the night with all the 1337 players again. |
hopefully the (apparent) poor play you describe is just a new wave of players that haven't learned ANYTHING about tactics yet. the bad part is the lack of courtesy that even some of the better players show, which will not teach these...er, new idiots the RIGHT way to play (and behave).
i know it's maddening, but better players could give advice to newbies instead of just calling them idiots. unfortunately, many of these less experienced players are also a$$es and just biscuit eater when corrected. |

well i get a glimpse into this sometimes. my brothers just started gaming., the first FPS he ever completed was mohaa. heheh. so anyway he is brand new to the whole community and just the internet in general. he has average computer knowledge but most of it goes back to dos and 486's. needless to say his etiquette is lacking. the community is not a bunch of sh1theads who take the game to seriously, we just expect people to show some class. of course the majority of people online are kids who like to make asses of themselves. my brother says some strange things in servers sometimes, like just saying "aimbot" and not saying j/k. calling people noobs for no reason, and just getting pissed when he gets whooped.
it is getting pretty bad out there though. i got banned from IDS the other night for saying someone with a high ping should be booted, guess he was friends with the admin.
there are so many good servers out there though, just find a good clan server and have some fun. check my forum people list., there are 5 or 6 clans listed, all good guys. youll probably get beat down but its still fun. |

I don't think there is a great deal to be learnt about online play, most of it is simple common courteously. I can't say I've played more than an hour multiplayer online in over 3 or 4 months to comment on the decline. But I have been quoted as saying this from day one - "the Counter Strike lamer community will scurry to SOF2 like rats from a sinking ship and infect SOF2 with their own brand of stupidity". Sure there are good sensible people who play CS, but on the other side of the coin are the dickheads. If I flipped that coin 100 times it would land more than 50% of the time on the "dickhead" side.
