its probebly a dumb question but why doesnt it work when you color the JPG of Military_helmet. In the game menu i can see the soldier wearing my colored helmet but when i try to join a server it says something like DEFAULT IDENTITY (mullins jungle) failed to register. Wh y is that when i only change the look of the jpg.

Please don't ask a question like this in an unrelated thread.  Start your own topic.

This is about getting own skinned or self made bolt-ons in the game isnt it, and that is what my question is.

I don't mean to be rude but the topic is about getting custom bolt_on models into the game.  Your question is unrelated to the specific problem we're having.  It would be more useful for you to post it as a seperate topic.

As a JK2 modder, I know quite a bit about the the JK2 ghoul2 system.  We don't have "boltons".  Our models don't have customizable stuff like that.  We can sort of do it with surface toggleing.  We, however, use bolts for weapons.

I believe that I started the original thread ages ago, and due to my total ineptitude, I failed.

The only thing I could do was get the bolt_on into modview, but I was unable to get it to place right on the model :(

The helmet looked like a massive boil on the back of the neck of the character. It was too small, and I couldn't find a way to get it to place right.

So I've given up, since I like playing the game more than developing things for it, although I am still plugging on with mapping.

OK guys, after much testing, I think I got it to work.

I will be doing some more testing in the next few days and when I am convinced that it works 100% of the time I will post the process along with some pictures of one of the bolton so you can see it.

Unfortunately, I am leaving for the weekend, so I will not be able to work on it until next week.

So what's the deal Nutrino?  Did you get lost on your way home?

I got in contact with neutrino and he has some problems with his computer and stuff(mobo fried). So I don't think we'll see the answer anytime soon  :)

Patience people  :)
