I would really like to know if there is a possibility to see Hexen 3.I had talked with one of Ravens' programmers 5 months ago and he told me that the company had no future plans for the heretic/hexen series...sadly....Does anybody know/have heard anything?

Oh and by the way hexen had scared the s*** out of me.Hexen2 didn't accomplish that.I have to say that the lack of atmos-fear was obvious..(+bad dezigned levels...+fuzzy/not logical puzzles...+few enemies to deal with at the same time due to 3d accelerations'limits at that poit of time...) Anyway I hope for a Hexen 3 soon.Do u?

Yes Hexen III would be awesome, (oh how many times I've said that...) plus now with the Doom3 engine Raven could make a really atmospheric game.

Hexen1 didn't really scare me, (although there were some usermade levels that were quite spooky) but it did definitvely have an atmosphere. Hexen2 while not having the same feeling was still fun and IMO the levels were quite good and the enemies very interesting (dismembered mummies anyone?) The MP part of Hexen2 was great too, especially after Hexenworld came out.

No announced plans...yet.  I refuse to give up hope.

Hexen1 was scary, especially with the respawning monsters and the tense atmosphere.  Heretic1 was scary too, but mainly because I wasn't that good at fps games back then (keyboard anyone?). :)

Hexen2/Heretic2 were great but didn't scare me nearly as much, probably 'cause I had been playing Quake so much I had teh sk1llz!!1 :]  ...well, at least I convinced myself I had.

Respawning monsters still freak me out though--I've yet to beat "Portal of Praevus" on Nightmare. :(

If Raven won't make any Heretic/Hexen sequel, I don't want any other team to pick them up. I believe Raven is the only one who can make a successful Heretic/Hexen III. Oterwise I'd rather a wonderful memory than a corrupted reality.

I'd love a Hexen III, too. But maybe call it something else besides Hexen-(number what). Let it be a new name that again starts with 'He-' and sounds vaguely scary or sensational.  :;):

Have to agree that Hexen II could have used a bit more interactivity and livelier environments. You know, more things to push, pull, press, interact with; plus things like sand blowing in the wind, fallen leaves, willow strands swinging, etc. And why not friendly creatures/characters, too, like what you find in Unreal and Half-Life?

But on the whole Hexen II was still very enjoyable. There's still ample room for improvements, though!

Yeah, I want a HeXen 3 too.
But it'd require it to be a little more along the lines of HeXen 1 for me to like it (I'm not too sensitive about amount of monsters to fight though).

HeXen 2 disappointed me because the enemy/weapons concepts were nothing near as cool as in HeXen 1 - in HeXen you had this badass runesword that lob destructive green balls, in HeXen 2, this was function was given to another cheesy staff.
And in General, HeXen 2 had far too many staff weapons.

Personally, I'd like a HeXen 3 to take place back on Cronos where the first HeXen took place and I'd like some player characters that are a little more remiscent of the original three, while adding at least two all-new characters.

And it seems to be a general sentiment that there should be more than four weapons per character - I'll make it fair and say that five weapons/offensive spells for each character would be sufficient.

I don't know who owns the Hexen/Heretic license, is it Raven or is it owned by Activision now? Its just like Blood, we will probably never see a Blood 3 because Infogrames owns the license and there isn't anything Monolith can do about it.

I agree I really want a Hexen 3, that along with Heretic were the games that got Raven going.
