For the test me and all my friends have the msg invalid cd key when i ty to join a server. What the #### is going on?

You are getting this error because Gamespy is currently in the process of merging thier servers at this time. Please bear with them, and try again in a few days, when they are finished. We have no connection to this process, and there is nothing wrong with your CD key.

So why then do I see people logged in and playing? Does everything go thru gamespy to authenticate? Pretty poor design then. Maybe this should be looked into, if gamespy is doing something, it shouldn't affect our gameplay.

we should NOT need a cdkey to play on a demo server, and thats what the thing is asking for

GameSpy has nothing to do with this. Chances are that you are connecting to a server which hasn't been restarted since our master server switch and so it can't authenticate you (even though you are a demo, it still goes through the process). Make sure you refresh the server list and try joining a server which has people in it.

Just tried that... didn't work. goutmouth has 14/16 players, has been restarted, and I get an invalid_cdkey when I tried to join. For shits and giggles, I reinstalled the demo, rebooted, still get the same thing on all servers showing activity and players. Any other ideas? Thanks

EXACTLY WHAT HE SAID< And there are 6 of us that all play together, and none of us are able to log into ANY server, even ones with players in them. Thats at least 80% statistically speaking, that cannot join games, so really , cmon , whats up? :s9:
