the models in Sof2 were created in Max. also you have to use either max or xsi to animate for sof2

Many students do... they can get it at a MUCH reduced price ( 600 or so when compared to 3500 ). Its the full version, the only thing is that you cannot use the program commercially. For example make stuff and then sell it.
