Read this: Sierra has announced that 2015, the development studio behind Medal of Honour: Allied Assault, is currently working on an Unreal-powered first-person shooter for the PC and Xbox called Men of Valour: Vietnam. As the name suggests, Men of Valour is a historical first-person shooter set against the backdrop of the Vietnam War. Players will take part in various search-and-destroy missions and even get involved in major conflicts during the war such as the Tet offensive. In addition, players will be accompanied by a group of non-player characters who will provide support during missions. The game will have a variety of multiplayer modes, including a cooperative option and the option to play from the perspective of the North Vietnamese army or the Viet Cong.
Men of Valour: Vietnam is scheduled for release sometime in 2004 on both the Xbox and the PC. Bah, i know what you're think "lets see some eye candy!" Yes, I saw that myself panop but those screenshots are obviously from the early stages. Just go check out some old sof2 images and comapre them to sof2 now, big difference eh? I have always been a newbie when I join a new game. I've never waited for a game before I just usually went from one game, got bored of it and move onto another where someone suggests and I play the demo(which is usually a few months old) and if I like it, I buy it. I'm going to be one of the guys first getting the demo when it's released. Ok, that's enough of my pointless mumbling... |

I've been playing the multiplayer demo of VIETCONG for over 6 weeks now. I love this game, it's scheduled release date is March 19th. Suddenly, and seemingly out of thin air, THREE MORE Vietnam First Person games are revealed! This is very interesting: First we have: Men Of Valor - VietnamSierra has announced that 2015, the developer behind the WWII shooter Medal of Honor: Allied Assault is working on a new war-themed shooter named Men of Valor: Vietnam for the PC and Xbox. Toted as an "historical first-person shooter set against the backdrop of the Vietnam War", the game will use the latest Unreal engine to allow players to experience such conflicts as the Tet offensive. Most missions will have the player accompanied by squad-mates that will offer support. The game is scheduled for release sometime in 2004. Next we have: Callsign: CharlieThe game takes place during the Vietnam War (1964 - 1975). It offers the player full control over a squad of elite soldiers known as Green Berets - specially trained professionals involved in numerous secret missions which took place mostly behind enemy lines. Player can apply his strategic thinking and test his reactions in realistic combat in life-imitating locations. Using a number of authentic weapons, vehicles and aircrafts, mission goals can be accomplished in various ways. Possibility of switching to arbitrary character from the squad whenever the player wants increases the diversity of gaming experience. And Third we have: Line Of Sight - VietnamYou are an eagle-eyed sharpshooter in the Army’s Special Forces (better known as “The Green Berets”) at the height of America’s involvement in the Vietnam War. Surrounded by steaming jungle, you’ll stealthily position yourself and eye targets through your scope. Here, the tension is so thick a simple twig snap can mean the difference between successfully completing a mission and making the ultimate sacrifice. Dense vegetation limits visibility and conceals everything from booby traps and caves to snakes and elusive enemy soldiers. This is a world where remaining unseen is key and where speed and good judgment gets you home alive. ------------ That makes FOUR total -- w00t! So beef up your late-sixty's music collection and stock up on plenty of insect repellant, cause four great games are going to be choppered in for your jungle warfare enjoyment! -=AutoPilot=- |
