ok firstly hi, I have not been in here in a while, good to see the flaming has stopped!

Anyway since the new patch my pings have sky rocketed, they went from 50-60 in a german server to 120-300 on the same server. This seems pretty strange as I am within the normal ping range for all my other games.

In addition, on some servers, my keys remap for some reason? Im a lefty so I use my arrow keys, no matter what direction I move I jump! lol it WAS funny now its just annoying.

btw I dont know if it is relevant but I upgraded with gold lite as I already dl'd the other patches before (months ago)

Lastly, is there going to be a 1.4 patch or maybe an expansion pack?

I said it before and I will say it again, I WILL by all Raven fps games. Simply because they are the best supporting their games.

pings: nothing shouldve happened. mine are just fine. maybe youre playing at busy times?

remapped keys: they might have a mod or osp running. the keys have to be changed in the mod for it to stay that way whenever you do play with that mod on.

1.04: i dont really know, but i think so... i never heard an announcement for 1.03, and guess what came  

After every patch people where complaining about bad pings, so by now the game should be totally unplayable...

latly there has been a lot of genral problems with the net, a few main serverhs have been having problems, and then the sql virus the other day that swamped a lot of servers.

its probally a coincedence, as there was nothing changed in the patch that would effect that, unless ur network setting have been reset or soemthing.

actually spike good point, the virus over the weekend may have something to do with it.

OK I think I may have located the problem:

I downloaded the SOF2 REAL™istic v5 SP Mod a few days ago with the gold patch. I am getting huge lag on cable when there are lots of people in my immediate area. I dont think it is system related because my actual ping goes up to 497 max (last nite on a server in my own country), the screen does lag but my system is pretty decent:

xp pro
two partitions:
c:15 gigs 49% free <xp is on this partition>
f: 15 gigs 64% free <sof2 and other games are on this partition>
512mb sd ram
ti4600 128mb
Audigy player
1.4 Athlon CPU

everything is up to date and the rig is scan disked and defraged once a week. Reformated once every two months.

The only thing I can think of is some sort of spyware or something piggy backing on my connection.

I ran the spyware program and got the usual 79 instances found.

Something is very wrong lol

As far as the keybinds being messed up...

There are TWO sof2mp.cfg files.  One for regular servers, and another for OSP servers.  Binds and other things must be created in each and will not be there unless inserted manually.  

Thats probably what happened.

sorry it didnt fix it. this is really annoying now! I scored 27-58 in a CTF match last night. I am bad but not that bad. My pings are ranging from 39ms to 739 last night lol. This is terrible. Its on all servers even the ones that I get my best pings.

Does the gameplay seem jerky to you, like it speeds up and slows down?  I've noticed my pings have been jumping a lot too, but this problem does not seem to be affecting all users on the server.  I think I am getting packet loss as well cuz suddenly the game will freeze and my position in the game will jump from one area to another.

exactly! maybe spike rev ram or the guy that likes fries could help us?
