I was playing on a HYD clan server earlier tonight.  I capped a flag and was heading back when suddenly, WHAMMM!!!!  Out of nowhere there was a loud clap of thunder and I was dead!!  The message line in the upper left read something to the effect of, "HYD (clan member) killed you with a bolt of lightning."  There wasn't a soul anywhere near me!!

I asked the other players about the server be able to cheat and one guy replied that the server should be allowed to cheat!  And what is more, that if I din't like it, I should find another server!

PB was enabled, and yet the server somehow ZAPPED me while I had their flag.  I have lost sooooooooo much respect for this game after that, and have ZERO respect for the HYD clan for this outrageous behavior!!

This game is fast becoming another in the long list of games that USED to be fun to play before CHEATERS took control!!

Do everyone a favor and boycott any HYD servers and kick them off your servers when they join!!!

Those servers would be running OSP, which is a modification. To avoid the lightning bolt and many other lame things like it, try and play on normal SoF2 servers. Personally, I would rather be booted than zapped by some pimply little squirt. This is a terrible feature of OSP. In my opinion, of course. Some pimply little squirts like it. Can't say I've ever had it happen to me (dont play OSP) but it's pretty d*mn lame.

Sounds like you were killed by the server admin who has the ability to strike down players using a bolt of lightning (it's a feature in the OSP mod).  It's not cheating, just an abuse of power.

Call it an abuse of power if you like, but when it alters the normal course of the game, I call it CHEATING!

That's a lamer server and probably hosted by a lamer clan.  Make it known when things like that happen.  Try to contact the clan leader, and if it was the clan leader that killed you, then post it in the lamer clans thread.

People that abuse their powers in public servers should be blacklisted.

yea what the crap is that., wusses. plus osp has that huge invincibility bug in it.

this is even funnier though. i was waiting for a friend to pick me up from work yesterday so i loaded up the demo and thought hey, ill get me a few frags before he shows up. well i jumped in an inf server called deadzone or some lame cr@p. anyway it said inf gametype so you assume you have to get the case right., wrong.  i saw them talking some bs like sniper war, and dont cross the boxes in the middle. so i was like what the #### are you guys talking about. no one said anything. so i ran down grabbed the unprotected case ran up stairs and jumped in the heli. all of a sudden all the losers were like kick him server he grabbed the case, ban that a$$hole blah blah. i said what are you idiots talking about this is inf the goal is to get the case. so lame server man said were having a sniper war., and i was immediatly booted... for picking up the case and scoring. wtf. if they wanted to have a stupid sniper war all they had to do was set the gametype to DM so stupid people like me wouldnt try and get the case.

i laughed., and most of em had the full version but were playing the demo. probably cause they suck a$$ and dont wanna come play with the big boyz.

thats a plus. i still dont see why they put that in there., whats the point of being able to hit people with phones, and lightning bolts.  

well in many way it is actualy good. it gives an alternitave to kicking and banning players, zap door blockers, remove weapons of team killers, throw people about who get on to the roof in certin maps.

how is this different from and admin deciding to kick u for no reason...

u would do the same thing, u would not go back to that server.
