if there is one there should be a callvote added for your team only to mute a players voice... also have it show who is doing the talking... would be pretty craptastic if say someone named "toab" got on and was all like "look at me my name is ramrod i is the 1337 h4x0r and i will eat j00 babehs... mmmmm babehs is gooood" but yes i love you ramrod you sexy man

well it is not that we need a whole new voice comm system we just need the voice programs out there to become somewaht integrated...
when you say on Teamspeak,RW,GV whateva.....

you would get an indication of who said it and where they were...

EX : *voice*(Hazardous[LL]Hands): warehouse

that would be perfect...

as far as public use bah...good thought but useless as most play on publics is to play not to win...so cohesive teamplay in pubs would be a nightmare..

Okay first I'd like to point out user friendlyness is a big issue to Raven. They're a software company... it has to be logic demands it. This isn't intended as flaimbait or to offend, but come on guys.

Secondly voice chat would add ALOT to the game, even on pub servers. The ability to discuss strategy while playing, give heads up information QUICKLY, and simply meeting cool random people added quite a bit of pure fun to CS.

Yes you can use voice chat software for voice communication with your friends and clanmates, but for the most part I don't usually want to bother. However if it was integrated into the software more people would be inclined to use it, thus it would build more of a community.

I do have some reservations about it though. There are ways in CS to force a wav or mp3 file through the connection. That is in a word... annoying. That would have to be completely not an option to get my seal of approval.

Secondly I haven't seen much discussion on how something like this affects networking performance/ping times. In CS there was little or no noticable impact, however by todays standards CS is somewhat simple.

All in all I think this is something that should be picked up by the mod community as an add on, rather than a standard componant. I'm sure alot of servers would adopt, and use it if it were. I'm not really convinced that it should be a built in feature.

Ahhhh, ignorance is bliss.  If only we had all read the readme file before posting.  And spike comes through to show us the way.

So in other words, we just have to get the word out to the servers to add rw to their servers and have them post what channel to join.  Sounds pretty simple to me...  Then again I have no idea what Im talking about :D  :s1:  :s1:

Spike how does the RW work with the servers. We have been debating opening up a public RW channel. Can you give some insight into this please.

We only laugh at each other. Thanks Spike we actually use RW all the time when we are in the server. I think I am going to push for the public channel.
