well i opened this thread cause the off topic discussions in the "atmosphere" thread took over.. so let discuss this theme further in its own thread..

do you like big sigs like (for example flix or Lord Dave ones) ?
of yes why? if no why not?

on a sidenot pls be nice to each other cause i know such discussion can go out of hand :) but somehow i doesn't expect such stuff in here :)

I know what you mean. I guess my image is a little on the large side but it does serve a purpose. Having an easily spotted sig means it's easier to scroll through threads (especially long ones) and quickly pick off where you left of without rereading too much. You can also find posts easily by those that you respect or are interested to read a response from.

There's certainly something to be said for sigs but I do think that mutliple sigs with a paragraph of text for a one sentence post certainly crosses the line. Same goes for animated gifs. They're quite distracting and suck bandwidth. Some of the Counterstrike player forums are virtually unreadable. Funnily enough, nobody ever complains about stuff like that. They only get upset at someone who has a single image that's a bit too big. ??? I get more annoyed by those that have quotes by at least 32 different people (slight exageration but you know what I mean) all separated by line breaks. The text sigs are easily confused with posts so I would rather people complain about them.

In short, One sig up to a certain size is perfectly acceptable. I always see up to 50k as a fairly acceptable size to upload each pic or screenshot and around 30K for your complete signature (everything). If that's too much for anyone, they can opt to turn sigs off.

I don't mind sigs that are around 4 lines in height. Width doesnt really matter though. As long as it doesn't fsuck up the forums :/

I voted "I don't care" because I don't see signatures in threads.
I love Ikonboards!

[Edit: What typo? ;-)]

I like to see sigs because right now its hard to remember what everyone does ;)
