Raven, has there been any thought about creating another incredible Heretic game? Look at what is available today.. man the Doom 3 engine, Unreal 2 engine. This of the possibilities of a new Heretic game.  Lucious graphics, like the first 2 Heretic and Hexen.  I still enjoy loading those puppies up and playing via jHeretic and jHexen.  Of course you'd have to go back to your roots and have it a First Person Shooter.  And with the come back of the CRPG's this would be a good time to bring that "quasi" RPG.

Come on guys.. now's the time to bring a classic back to life, much like iD is doing with Doom...

I'd have to agree with you totally!  It's been quite a few years now, and a new Heretic game utilizing the Doom 3 engine would just be absolute heaven.  

I still gaze at the graphics Heretic had in it. They were just bright and alive. It was a very colorful game yet still had an ominous tone too it. Hexen was the same way.

I'd like to see Hexen III.  I played the first one and it had a very special atmosphere.  Not that all the shooters today suck or anything, but I'd like to see one in this Middle Aged setting with the current 3D engines.  Must be cool.

Yeah the first Hexen had an awesome atmosphere. Hexen 2 had a great atmosphere as well but the bad netcode really put a damper in the otherwise sweet MP experience.

Games need imagination! That's what today's realistic FPS lacks! We have already had a boring real life. Why should give me so many realistic graphics! It's too material! It has no soul! We want games like heretic/hexen that could bring enjoyment to our souls!

While I think a remake of Heretic or Hexen would be very neat, I'd much rather they make something new and original. There just aren't enough new games around these days. Almost every game is a sequel to another game. Unreal 2, MOO3, UT2003, warcraft 3, etc. There needs to be something new, and unfamiliar.

True, but keep in mind that the four Heretic/Hexen games shared relatively little in common story-wise.  A completely new and original fantasy themed FPS might as well be named Heretic3 or Hexen3 to boost sales.  ...of course *making* a completely original game, especially an FPS, must be challenging enough nowadays.  A good example though, IMHO, is Metroid Prime.  It does something to the FPS genre that's actually never been done before.  It really plays as if it's designers didn't look at any other game while creating it, as if they reinvented the FPS genre from scratch.

Do I think Raven could pull of something like MP?  Yes.  Do I think Raven will?  I don't know...

Lol, of course not.  ...I wouldn't have been able to say no to Q4 either. :)  But it's good to know some of you guys are still thinking about H/H.  It's not a lost cause then.
