Concerning mods:
The modmakers have a pretty bureaucratic hypething going on. That shows from their sites, also from newsites. It's in a big, big unfree !! extreme atmosphere.
You have better mods. And good things too. Many mods just don't do it, the ideas are to bad.
The mod-community is extreme, unfree, goaled to megasucces, has a tre-men-dous attitude. It's totalitaristic and inhuman. That is not pleasant.

Who joins in this sick thing, and it really is a sick thing! Somebody has to say it, is guilty of making other people unfree.

There are playable mods, such as: for quake3
assault from strike base
assault & capture the flag: Base strike hyper 6000HB from strike base
assault quake3 from assaultmodifications
jailbraik
quake3rally
afterwards
the hulk mod
domination

a few singleplayermods

i have to say, i dont see your point?!

and i dont agree, i mean sure within a mod team there has to be a hirachy otherwise it wouldnt work...

and within the comunity at least the EF modding comunity there is IMHO a very good athmosphere, everybody helps everybody.
this may be because the ef comunity isnt that big, and one knows nearly everybody in it...

It's not only that. Basically, mod teams do have the opportunity to develop original ideas and games, since they do not have to worry about the commercial stuff. However, for a regular game design company, money is what counts. Therefor management is more likely to choose for a formula that has proven its succes rather than to go for the innovative design of which they don't know if it will sell.

The solution is my favorite Ikonboards option:
"Do you wish to view members signatures when reading threads?  [No]"

ummm... flix... how come you can hardly see my site in your sig?  I demand you put a 512x256 banner in your sig that says 'I belong to Migdog's Mapping stash.'

or else...  :s3:

I've found that in general large images in sigs are annoying.
I just didn't say anything because noone else did.
