has anyone ever played "scramble" -i haven't atleast seen any..?

i prefeer CTF both teams hawe a mission to do...demolition is quite good too
infiltration can be too campy sometimes:((

I like Elimination, but not on publics, yuo always get someone who camps the round away, and makes it boring for everyone else. The hunt around a map not knowing where your enemy could be is lots of fun tho

I have played scramble once (only time i foind a server running it )

But most of the time i play CTF

yes..once there was a srver for scramle but nobody was playing,just checked out that flag/boll ...a kind'a deathmatch too i think...

That's my point, with a game with an objective other than 'eliminate the other team' you can be 99% sure you know exactly where the other team will be headed. In Elimination they move all the way accross the map, which allows for more tactical play than 'rush in and see how many you can take down before they kill you and take the case/plant the bomb/take the flag'.

I play a TON of CTF, its great, I really like it.  I have played Scramble, also known as KTMWTB (Kill The Man With The Ball), also known as Smear the Queer (no offense intended) only once, and that was when I opened a lan game to try it out, I would really like to see more server's running it, at least in between CTF matches for like 10 min would rock.  INF and DEM come second, and I occasionally break from the cautious, more organized gametypes to go nuts playing a little TDM and DM.

I'm going to give Elimination a try though, it sounds interesting.

Infiltration.
As attacker, you have three objectives: Get In - Get Case - Get Away.  
As defender, you have three objectives: Don't let them in. Don't let them take the case. Don't let them get away with it.

Infiltration is a tactical game.  Played with CO rules, I can guarantee: NO CAMPING!

A little more campish in public, but not as boring as Elimination where you can sit for ages, waiting for the two remaining survivors running around in circles to find each other.  Some how, I never got to play much Demo... To few maps.

CTF is fun on public - pure mayhem - and good for your aim and evade skills.

I call Infiltration tactical.
Tyranith call Elimination tactical.

I think we both are right, but we are talking about different tactics.  

Generally speaking:
Infiltration is offensive high speed attack, were timing is essential.  Targets and routes are generally known.
Elimination is defensive low speed attack, were situation awareness and positioning is essential.  Targets and routes are generally unknown.

I like the concept of elimination - but it gets to tedious on public.  I would love to play elimination where you got a bonus for keeping as many as possible from your team alive.  I often get the impression that the "best" elim players, i.e. those that hug the top of the scoreboard, often lets the rest of the team take the initial hits, and then go mop up the leftovers.

Yes, exactly, what e/\ said . I'm not saying infiltration and demolition aren't tactical I know that from clanwars etc, it's just they tend to be fast paced and untactical on publics, as everything is. I'm starting to find publics pretty boring now, and only challenging 1on1s and good clanwars can really get me going

In Elimination you'll usually find me at the top of the scoreboard, but I don't hang around. I'm about the only player I know who gets a positive kill ratio from charging in madly
I almost always have the most deaths, but the most kills too, lol
