I just recently installed a Logitech MX500 usb mouse with 9.75 build 302 drivers.
When I use these drivers I cannot map the 2 left buttons for my walk and reload keys they show up as XOXO and do not work.
If I use Microsoft drivers instead all is well but they are not half as precise or good as the Logitech drivers. I defiantly notice a difference
I downloaded the registry fix and read the instruction addressing some compatibility issue with SOF2. Nothing in the read me about Win2k or XP. So is this useless for those two O/Ss?
My OS is Windows XP Pro SP1.
the Following is the readme for the Goldpatch

Some Logitech mice may have a non-functioning mousewheel. In order to fix this, please follow the following instructions:
1. Install the latest MouseWare from www.logitech.com
2. Go to the Control Panel and select the Mouse option. Select the Buttons tab in the properties box. Enable 'MS Office compatible mousewheel only' and 'Scroll in active window only'
The registry key is added however one option #2 does not appear in the settings
Any help would be great as this mouse is much better then my MS intella mouse

thanks

Join the club, I have the EXACT same problem. This is on Win98SE btw. I thought it was a Win9x prob or something :s6:

Logitech say they are working on it. I sure hope so

:s4:
I have just gotten an MX700 and have the EXACT same problem.  8 buttons, all except #1 are numbered differently and with NO documentation on how to code or change the action of the side buttons.  Would've been nice to include a tiny tutorial on HOW to program the buttons.

This NEW technology sounds (& probably works) great, but until I can bind the side (now #2 & #3) mousebuttons, I'm stuck with a high-dollar 3 button mouse - whoopie.

Any advice appreciated

P4, 1.8 512ddr ram, running Win XP home :s9:

I have the same thing with my MX500....

What I did is actually install Microsoft's Intellipoint drivers, which is designed for the MS Intellimice, but works just fine with my mouse, and the only problem I have now is that the little application changer button doesn't work.

I have the MX700 and havent had any trouble ?!

I use the following config :-

LMB=Fire
RMB=Alt Fire
Scroll wheel up=Next weapon (or AK)
Scroll wheel down=previous weapon (or Pump)
Scroll click(MB3) = Reload
Forward &/or Back button (ones on leftside) = NADE

I had to change button 6 to "Middle Button" to enable next/previous and reload functions.

Both the forward & back buttons map "OXOO" in SOF2 which can be mapped, but to only 1 action. (ie/ nade).

However, to map either button with different functions you can use the mouse control center then map buttons 2 and 3 to any "F*" key (1 to 12).

This is running the latest software from the logitech site

Control center version = 9.75.302
Mouse Driver version = 9.75

I havent bothered trying to map buttons 4/7 or 8 as they are a bit difficult to press.

But as far as I can see with the "mouse control center" program you can map any of the 8 buttons to ANY F key (also a few other keys available, ie/space, enter, shift, home, pageup/down).

Hope this helps
