I've got a high speed (download only, slooow upstream) ADSL connection too. Maybe that's why it's highly affordable and easily available (at least where I live). Sigh client side technologies, huh?? Personally, I wait (currently) in vain for the next generation of cheap, easily available, symmetric technology for home networking! Anyway , to my point - I wouldn't run a server on an ADSL connection....if I were you....to honest. Unless it's for 'personal' use or clan, etc... You're upload speed is so very not going to be enough (especially if you're saying 256K...whichever speed you're talking) for all but the smallest servers.

i run a 6 player sever on 256k adsl upstream and eveyones pings are below the 150 range. sometimes i can make it have 10 players if i put the maxrate down then the pings go up to about 200. so it IS possible to run a decent server on 256k adsl upload

yeah i agree i also run a small adsl server for 6 players, its ur average normal home connection too, pretty good really

Maybe its smart to make a table for average suggested rates at connection speed this way ppl dont hav to try too much rates or ask here to finally get a nice one ;-)
