I can vouch for SlemPike being a genuine female as we have met. And she plays one #### of a mean game too.

Yea played her myself. She's definitely pretty good.
My sis plays one #### of a mean game too (or at least did). I wouldn't mind seeing them slog it out some time lol. 
In that same vein, has anyone noticed how there are an awful lot of girls playing SoFII (as opposed to other games, I mean)? I know at least 4 girls who play it (pretty well too) and have seen a few others too. |

Hehe, yes, I'm really a girl, and I have met quite a few other girls in this game too. And some of them are really good too, like QT-AcidBurn (formerly known as Zx-Virginmary) and the swiss national team captain doOby.
So you better hurry up include a female skin - with corresponding voice - for INF, CTF, etc in the platinum patch Raven, because I play so much SoF2 I'm almost getting confused about my sex running around as a man yelling "Advance" and "Clear" in a very deep voice. 
Mmm, back to topic... I think I must give the termals a new go, don't think I ever gave them a fair chance. But only for fun, in clanwars armor is the only option. |

The scientific explaination would be as follows:
NV goggles work by amplifying the small amount of ambient light traveling through the eyepiece. Simply enhancing what you could see normally.
Thermals work by translating the infrared spectrum into visable light. Infrared waves don't travel as far without being absorbed as light does.
So with equipment currently available thermals in a scope would be... blind as a bat. |

Thanks for somebody finally answering my initial question. It makes sense now, instead of just writing off to a "we had to balance the gameplay" feature. |
