So here is the deal
I Had the sof2 fully installed and patched to version 1.02 and pb updated too, but now when i deleted sof2 files , it wont patch the game to 1.01 . why?
i have reinstalled and unistalled , changed directory and downloaded the patch from other sources.. this is really giving me a headache..
when i try to patch the game it gives a error :
Patch error
Old file not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match.

This is really annoying. Please help me if you just know the way to solve this one  

try runing the wiser2 application ( search for it in the forum ) if one of the files installed is corrupt it will tell you and you should be able to replace it by mannualy copying it from your cd... gl

Well i did run the Wiser2 , and it did found incorrupted files.
i did all what the readme told.

but it didnt help..

also there is this weird thing, when i unistalled the game, i couldnt INSTALL it there was options single-player, multiplayer etc.. but no install , only REINSTALL...weird..

it now installed normally, but didnt patch it..still getting the same error.

i fully deleted all the sof2 files ( including some mod pk3`s )
but i left some pk3`s / sof2 skin files ( jpg) and guns.

does those make a effect to installion?

i think that if i Format my pc , cause its full and Crappy, heh
then it would patch it , i know.
but if there is any other way to do this, i will be very clad

when you uninstall the game it doesnt delete all the files and folders.  do after you uninstall go to program files and delete sof2 folder...then try it all again.

When i Uninstall the game it lefts folders, such as Sof2 / base and stuff like that.
But what if i have other pk3 files, in not the sof2 main folder?
or mayby its the exe file, it may be corrupted..

why i`m answering to my own guestions ?

btw my game isnt US , it is UK version. does the patch work on both same way ?

i just installed the game and run the wiser2. it sayd that some files are incorrectly installed.

but when i removed the exe files from sof2 mainfile it said that all files are correctly installed as version 1.00.
mayby there is virus on my exe files? could that be the reason ?

first uk and us version are the same the only version i know of that is different is the german version...

as for wiser2 saying everything is fine although you have deleted an .exe i had a similar problem once. I installed sof2 but the second cd wouldn't load, so i aborted without deleting what had already been installed. I told myself "i run wiser2 and it will tell what files are missing and i'll try to copy the manually". Amazingly wiser2 said everything was 100% OK as of v1.00!! but of course it wasn't since none of the files on cd2 were installed. weird

anyhow i don't think you have a virus..

i agree with that the reinstall wont work `cause i have been tested that so many times..
i have done all that the wiser2 readme says, but its not taking any effect.

and i`ve been having troubles with .exe files always.
for an example, paltalk.exe wont install , anti-virus programs wont work and some other exe`s have problems..
