OK, this has probably been posted before but all the posts that look like they might relate to this problem have not been detailed, and/or have gotten so off-topic that I'm not sure they're talking about the same thing I am. So if you're just repeating yourself when you respond, I apologize.

In Multiplayer in SoF2, I'm having difficulty with a freezing problem. I've concluded that it's a problem with PunkBuster, because it only happens in PB enabled servers.

A short time into the game, I'd say no longer than 2 minutes, my screen freezes and it plays the last sound bit it was playing before it froze, over and over again. I hit escape, and a message about having an error comes up and asks me if I want to send it to Microsoft and all of that. Then I tell it I don't want to send, and I shoots me back to my desktop where my background is messed up, and I have to refresh the screen to fix it.

Now for some specs. I'm running Windows XP, I've updated to the 1.02 version, and as far as I know I've updated Punkbuster and done all of that stuff. This problem happened right after updating all of these game files from the originals. It only freezes in PB enabled servers, so I can still play in non-PB servers but I'd like to have full access to the game.

Lastly, I'll give you a bit more info. I'm not a tech-wiz, so please don't be throwing abbreviations and instructions at me that I probably won't be able to understand  ;) In my game console, when I log into a PB server, it says something about two files not being found, and has a line about "0 Cvar Violations Detected" I'm not sure if this is relevant, but I read something about that line in another post that I thought may have been related to my problem.

All responses are welcomed, since the more wordings I have the better-off I'll be. Thanks.

I just crashed on a PB enabled, real damage server, check the "does your game crash after the patch?" thread for more details.

I've found the problem (thanks [ONC] Keyser). I run Windows XP, and under "properties" on the SoF2 Multiplayer desktop icon, it was listed as compatible for Windows 95. I changed that to Windows 98, and tada problem solved without messy system operations.
