Well as I said, when I go into SoF² the serverlist shows only few servers, and with pings going from 150 to 4000 (4600 is the highest i've seen :/ ). When I join a known server (like Jolr or Barrysworld) I have my regular ping 50 to 60.

Now I don't realy care that this ping is that high in the serverlist as long as its ok on the server, the real problem is that not all servers show up due to time out. And with that I mean a lot of servers are not shown. Also my favourites. I don't want to go add every server by hand with the ip :(

I did a refrest (and refresh whole list) several time, always the same problem.

It happenend from when I installed my SMC Barricade router, Firewall and stuff like that is all enabled.

Dunno, do I have to set something up with my router to give total freedom to sof2 to check with the masterserver or something?

Surfing, playing, downloading is all going at its regular speed.

erm i'm no expert with routers but i think you have to open the ports the game and servers are using...standard port is 20100 (i think). If it's not the router that's causing the problem try the "All seeing eye" from gamespy...I get a lot more servers with it than with the ingame browser.

no u dont need to open ports on the router unless u have a server running.  also using the all seeing eye will display all the servers even when ur behind a router cos i am behind a router and i can see all the servers.  most of them have 20-40 ping but a few have 100-200 cos they are being run off of slower connections

Yea same here, I'm behind router and same thing for all games. Their game browsers don't show a server or in best case very few. But when I use "The Eye" I see them all :) The Eye's ping isn't exact if u run a ping on all in list, but if u ping a single server a few times it's very exact.

Well I think the ingame browser rules - it's fast and very simple and easy to use. I love it.

I'll try the eye but just for testing to see wether it works there or not, but I want my ingame browser to be fixed I wanna search for partial names, I don't wanna pay for the same feature in the Eye :(

Well, unless you have completely screwed up the Barricade (SMC) router settings it shouldn't be causing you trouble.

I have been using a SMC 7004BR Barricade for a couple years now and have no issues like you describe.

try disabling the firewall....routers are usually good enough of a firewall...no need for a program.  unless you the porn king of the world and dont want people to see your finacial files or next project.  <------tangant.  anyways.  that should help, also ever think the router might be, i dunno, bad?  these things do happen when products are mass produced.  just a thought.  ill meditate on this some more my lil padawon

When I turn the firewall OFF in my router settings the serverlist works fine!

Now I don't want to turn off my firewall each time I go play and then turn it on again! I also don't wanna leave it OFF.

So there's a possibiliy for me to set up a 'DMZ' - what does that mean? I have to give a static client ip does that mean that that clientpc will be ignored by the firewall (like the firewall would be disabled for that client)!?

dmz = demilitarized zone.  this means your comp will be completely exposed to the net.  no firewall, no hiding.  if you turned the firewall off and it worked fine then we found the prob.  who ever said that you need to open ports is now right.  the firewall will slow packets by checking them first.  if you open the ports and set them to go directly to 20100-20110 then you should be fine, be sure to assign them for the program sof2.  and make them tcp, not udp.  this way it will route the files immidiatly instead of checking them first, yet your still firewalled.
