Its normal.  I see 115 fps easy in hallways and when I'm alone on certain maps.  Then it goes down to 50-60 in heavy battle with lows of 40 when I'm on a large map with 18+ players.  Ti 4600 btw. :s25:  :s27:

Its not normal however if your by yourself, say in your own non-dedicated server.

-edit-  Running at 1280x1024x32, 2xAA, MAX graphics settings, uncompressed textures.  The only way to play. -edit-

I've heard some rather negative things about the GF MX series. I know with my old ATI 7500 I would et 60-70 until I got into a battle, but I dont know how much more you should expect to see from a GF MX.

geforce 4 (asus, nvidia) ti4400 128MB DDR

And when I'm alone, i have fps of 125 (that's my maxfps settings) and when only *ONE* person sets in my screen, it drops to 40. I had gf3 (gainward, nvidia) and it had the same max fps, and when someone came to the screen, it only dropped to 90-100. And in tests gf4 ti4400 has beaten gf3 ti200, so I was wondering should I fall back on some drivers or what? current drivers for gf4 are R31.40d

(windows XP pro 5.1)

No the current drivers are the Det 41.09's.

Get those drivers, turn anti-aliasing off. If you installed the GF4 in the same computer as the GF3 remove sof2mp.cfg to make sure it redetects your card. And then lower the #### settings, this is MP, not pretty little slow SP.

i get 550 fps in SOF 1 (timerefresh).   If you have the ATI Radeon 9700 or 9500 pro go and get the new catalyst (3.0) if you dont have it already.  It gives you a menu similar to geforce's ti series, so you can tweak a bunch of stuff.  Make sure you turn off vsync  ;)
