It started last night without changin anything. Suddenly my SOF2 freezes and I get the message : An error has occured in sof2mp.exe bla bla bla.......under Win XPpro. Haven't got a clue what happend but it's f***ing annoying. Now i heared there R some clanmembers who have this problem to sometimes and looked on the web and found more of those ppl with problems. Got a screen of the failure report. (sorry its in Dutch) It comes and it goes. What the #### is going on. I wonder is it punkbuster?? NEED HELP ASAP

do u have any custom pk3 files in ur base dir?? (u can have auto downloaded some withought knowing about it), move all non raven ones to another folder then try it again, if it does not crash put them back a few at a time till u find the one. to test if its pb, just turn off ur pb client, then join a non pb server.

check what pb_system is set to, if it's set to 0 try 1, if 1 try 0.

Bah - I had this problem not so long ago see thread HERE It really annoyed me. I think this is getting to be a common problem amongst peeps right now - so what the #### is causing it? After I had the problem I couldnt reinstall the game - so I had to do it a 'different' way. Anyway now that this hhas happened to me once - does it mean Im free from it happening again? .... like a disease? EDIT: your joking about that censor right? lol

Well I had this error several times the other night.Not sure the cause of the error.I to run XPpro all I did was a system restore back to a date that I knew I had no trouble with my game.Do this from Start/programs/accesories/systemtools/system restore You can restore your system to any date.I know that this is only a bandaid and not a solution but at least I can play again. let me guess, happens bout 3 to 5 mins into a server and doesnt happen on all servers right? if so then re-download the pb security file at pb client security file. right click and save as into pb folder do the same thing with this one too!!!! I had this prob and couldnt figure it out...then when i noticed it wasnt random but consistant i knew it had to be with pb since it was still authenticating me at 5 min. this should work for ya.
