ok, I posted about this around a month ago...and can't find the thread. I have a person getting on my server with an invisble skin and an invisible name. I've seen it, and now last night a player on our server "DragonLady" experienced what its like being knifed to death by an invisble person... appearantly the skin is invisible except for the pouch on the belt. I had this same problem running Q2 servers a few years ago...the invisible "fluffy" skin was used in an anti aimbot proggie, and when cheaters found it they could use it as their skin on servers that had the anti aimbot software loaded. This
is whats weird, I have no custom skins loaded on my server...unless PunkBuster has loaded one to use on an invisible bot to detect aimbot users. What can I do to keep this creep from using this hack?

You might want to go to
Evenbalance and post there. They may have an answer. Or email them at research@evenbalance.com and give them whatever information you can including server logs and what not.

u will only not be able to see the player with the invisible skin if u have that same skin on ur comp.  to stop people being able to get on with that skin just make ur server a PURE server. (i think that will stop the skin affecting everyone, it will make it so only those that have got that skin on thier computer able to see it)

they cannot use an invisible skin unless all the clients and server has it.

even if they did use the invisible skin (somone has made one) u would still see them if u did not have it, so its more lightly u would apper invisible to them.

but there was a simalr issue with ef, when a player joined they were invisible and in some cases had no name.

My server is PURE with no custom skins added, unless PunkBuster loaded one.

there was a problem like this in jk2, all you could see was their weapon (lightsaber mostly). even on pure servers, people who connected with custom skins either turned into the default skin or an invisible one. maybe this is a problem with all q3engine games, i dont know. but it was really annoying. the name thing also happened. it was blank everything. i think theres an option to make all players have the same skin... try turning that on and see (force player models?)
