SOF1 sux when compared to SOF2. Period. Plus the mods make SOF2 even better.
Heck I just picked up SOF1 Plantium in the bargin bin for $5US, still not very satisfyed. ah well lol

I think you don't like slaughtering people. you shouldn't play SoF one, because you won't be satisfied. The story is quite... :s10:  and the reality-factor isn't too high, but what i like best, the killing and the leg that lays lonely in the corner, that rules.
I believe I'm not the only person that thinks that way.
SoF 2 is more something like:
1) Disweapon guy by shooting a whole clip at his hand from one meter before hitting him
2) Proceed by killing by knife
3) Suggest a small pause for a cup of tea
4) Drink a cup of tea, take a wiz, etc
5) Pick up your sidearm and hopefully hit him, while he is fleeing for the sudden impoliteness.
6) Get a medal for drinking tea

That's how it goes. The multiplayer is quite the same, but this law rules above all:
"He who hit's first, shall win the duel"

My brief opinion about SoF 2, compared to SoF

SoF1 has better single player, but you just have to realize that SoF2 has a much better multiplayer. I could go pages and pages about how unbalanced the SoF1 weapons are (the goddamn shotgun is all you need to own), and how the SoF2 maps surpass the ones of its predecessor, but I'm too lazy :p . Besides, no one plays Assassin anymore, hands down the best SoF1 gametype.

SoF2 is great for multiplayer...
SoF1 is great for singleplayer...

SoF1's singleplayer kicked uber ass, pure adrenaline-pumping shooting,  :s10: realism and story....
SoF2's singleplayer is not quite as good. There's more realism  :p and they stuck in lame stealth missions  :s9: but the drive/shooting sequences rock!

You don't need that awesome a comp to run SoF2. My PC barely meets the system requirements. In SP, I keep the res same as my desktop one (1024x768x16) and everything at medium/low detail, and in MP I keep it at 640x480x16 and fastest graphics settings. It's a shame that the game runs at 150-250 fps even with my cable connection (#### cable company.... :s9: )

SoF2's MP damage model is less realistic. Headshots take longer with side-arms (4-5 shots, 3 point-blank), knives are over-powered (2 throws and you're down), and you can snipe with any assault rifle if you learn to control your fire (#### I got a headshot with an AK-74 from a long distance...)

heh.... SOF 1 is classic SP (SOF 2 SP grew too tired when you got to Kamchatka)

SOF 2 DM-types are awesome (I don't like how other game modes; specifically CTF, where you can choose your guns because automatically everyone has a M4/AK + shotgun combo) and SOF 1 CTF is awesome (with inf. ammo that is :) )

SOF 2's hitboxes are ridiculously small (for MP headshots) and it's quite hard to hit unless by luck or with a sniper/shotty
