I wonder if anyone can help - a member of my clan is having really bad problems connecting to servers. There are 2 that he can connect to and his ping is fine, all the rest give him 999. Does anybody know why this could be happening? It's really strange that it happens on all but 2. There are probably some more out there that work (but as you can imagine, it's a pain in the butt trailing through them all). Any suggestions that I could pass on would be great! Thx

is there connection type properly set in the games network settings? what kind of connection do they have? have they tried pinging some servers out side the game to check there connection is ok

Where's he live? Are the two servers he can get ino close to his location or are they all across the world? Like Spike said, whats the connection?

that has happened to me before just make sure u haven't got LAN as ur connection speed (mine usually is on lan cos i forget to change it back to adsl after playing lan games wit my brother and dad)

Thx 4 all the suggestions Here are the details ... Connection: Cable Network Settings set to: Cable Location: Denmark Servers: can connect to 2 European servers .. as far as we know Do u think it could be anything to do with the server OS version?

no

try pinging one of the 999 server outside the game, what time do they get

My only guess so far, depending on what you say the ping is outside the game, would be an ISP problem. There may be a router in your area that's down or something of that nature.

That a good guess. I had this problem for several months, while my cable company was stumped on what was wrong. You could ping the servers just fine from DOS, but ASE and SOF2 couldn't.

Looks like they fixed it finally. <knocks on wood> :s32:

He doesn't have a firewall or something on his computer that blocks some necessery protocols/ports or something?? Icmp is ping... but if he has a FW then diable it for a while and test..

wsaeconnrefused is the error I keep getting... 111 servers not listed due to ping over 800 or something like that....arghhhhhh
