MOHAA, WS and BF1942 are ww2 shooter that where/are all the rage, CS and SOF2, RS are popular but COULD the sci-fi shooters like UT2003 and Q4 (coming later) together with Doom3 and Unreal2 start a new trend and swing the pendulum into the Sci-Fi FPS zone? Time may be coming to trade the AK for a Phaser? Hmmmm….. F |_| C K that….. (can I get away with that? ^ lol) |

And theres nothing wrong with "Sci-Fi" shooters, I personally dont like real world shooters and prefer the UT's and Quakes. |
I guess if you had a SOF as a SCI-FI shooter with the gore technology for player models I could be persuaded, to switch. SOF2 has the best model damage for net games period.
Hmmm SOF as a Sci-Fi shooooteeer….hmmmm a game that has all the great things of SOF2 in a Sci-Fi environments…..how cool would that be?
They may just call it Quake 4 ! |

Maybe thats the way things will go, but not with me. I think the more realistic the better. SOFII - still playing it since i bought it, i love realism. Medal of Honor:Allied Assault - was the only game i played for days till i completed it. Quake II - got bored with it in about 2 days, too repetitive. HalfLife - played it for a few days before i got sick of unconvincing monsters Unreal Tournament (UT) - this one bucks the trend, i couldnt get enough of it. For me i prefer realism, killing monsters with silly weapons just doesnt do it for me, i guess i like more of a simulation. Plus how satisfying is it blowing someones hand off in SOFII and seeing it on the ground and blood spurting from the limb. UT was different, perhaps because although the weapons were sci-fi you were still facing (mostly) human looking opponents. thats just my thoughts - sim and realism the only way to go |

I agree and disagree. It has the good gore, but sadly it goes totally to waste except in Man Down. I honestly think Urban Terror gore (excessive blood) is better than per pixel detection simply for the satisfaction of knowing full well I wasted or totally hurt a dude even from a distance. |
