well, when i try too play in some servers I connect to it and it automaticaly starts too download a map called: finne.pk3...Is this a new map from Activison or Ravensoft, because I want to know this....I just couldn't make a clan war, because I had too download this and it took 15 minutes lol... <CuRvE>

just turn off 'download from server' on your end, it will prevent all sorts of potential connection problems. Q3 is weird about dl'ing things from servers. - g

its not an offical map, never heard of it either. it might not even be a map, turn off autodownload as sometiems u can get in to the server withoguth the files, dependign what they are and if they are running.

Server administrators need to be aware that any pk3 file on the server that contains skins or gametypes along with the map will be required for anyone joining the server, pure or not. It doesn't matter if the map is running or not, or if it's even in the current mapcycle rotation - all clients will have to have the file to connect. (Occasionally, the content checks will fail and someone will be able to connect without it, but it's not frequent.) I don't know if that's what's going on in this case, but it's worth noting.

Are you sure about that? I know it will try to auto-download those files, but if you turn auto-download off you can still join. It has happend to me a lot, if I accidently leave auto d/l on it will start d/ling some skin or something, I cancle, turn auto d/l off and then join no problem. And I think the servers were Pure, but maybe not...

that my experiences also, i know a few of the servers i visuit regularly if auto downloading is on it will try to download all manner of crap, turn it off and it joines fine, this is both skins and maps(maps not currently running) and other mods
