As many people know PB has some probs with updating itself.  also it wont always work to go to the website and download the files.  so i found a simple fast painless way to do it.  

First:  In the game console on the settings screen (not in a server)  type "pb_sv_enable 1"

second: create your own server.  doesnt matter if it is a listen, local, or internet server,  dont bother making it all hooraw and crap...just simple enough for you to join it.  while in the server pull down the console and type "pb_sv_update"  do this three or so times.  after that type "pb_sv_ver"  this will tell you if you have the latest version.  
**NOTE**  Latest version is 1.002.   just for your info.

Third: Since you are the server and in it and its now updated, it will automatically update you now...this whole process from start to finish took me about 4 mins.  so individual times will vary amongst connection speed and computer speed...but this is the easiest way i have found so far.

Interesting... I tried the pb_sv_update but it's a possibility that I needed to go the extra step and create the server... seems like it would work... I'll try that next time this crazy stuff happens again.

It's easy enough (although we should never have had to) to update at evenbalance.com.  I just neglected to read to 'carefully' and didn't delete that one stoooopid pb.cls or whatever file.  Then I updated no problem in game.

yeah but for the people running 93, they will take 25 mins. or longer to update fully.  this is a quick update.  so you can do this anyway you want.  i found this easiest.
