i'm still getting that error msg about updating it...been doing this for weeks now.  this obviously menas its not working now, and i'm not gonna manually download something that is supposed to be automatic(unless forced to).  Its been over a week(maybe 2) since they said the problem would be fixed, but nothing has changed?

Maybe if you would actually read a forum before posting, you would realize that there have been various fixes out for a while now. In fact, there is a thread that is pinned to the top of this forum, so how you managed to miss it is beyond me. Go read that thread and your problem shall be solved, and take this as a lesson for later forum browsing.

^What he said. The grace period is about up for people not taking the steps to update. Soon you will be kicked from servers automatically.
It's not that big of a deal. Go do what you need to do to update or find yourself with nowhere to play soon.

i will wait till it kicks me.  when u release software that claims to auto-update, its supposed to just that.  nothing is solved, its still broken, and i have a feeling it won't work right in the future.

Thats the thing, the problem was in the autoupdating device. And why bother posting about your problem if you have no desire to fix it? Aparently you had enough of a desire to complain about it to get registered here and even get your avatar working, and yet you can't find the effort to download 2 files and delete 1? Thats just plain sad. And when you don't update and get kicked automatically from servers, don't come complaining here about it because you had a chance to fix the problem.

No, most people have the common sense to update manually.
The new version does auto update. There's been 2 versions since the original .993. It's at .995 now.
