Who in their right mind would even install a beta something from microsoft that they couldn't remove?... Also, to use and dx9 features, assuming you had the programs that could take advantage of them, you would need drivers that were able to use dx9, and currently no manufacturers are posting them publicly although you might be able to find some leaked beta drivers somewhere.

Actually I am wrong. ATI just released beta dx9 drivers. Go read about them or download them. So now you can use beta microsoft dx9 and beta ati drivers. I'm not sure I would use either one individually much less both at the same time. By the way, you can go pickup dx9 beta here.
