My clan wants to use some voice chat app, but Roger Wilco sounds like crap.  

Can we start a little discussion here on what apps people use and the pros and cons?  

Right now we just use text msgs because RW is such a hassle.

Actually as far as voice quality goes, we've found RW to be the best.

Wilco is head and shoulders above the competition as far as sound quality goes.

 it is very important to get it set up correctly as far as mic volume and system volume.  Everyone on the channel needs to have it optimized for their system or it can sound like someone gargling jello at the bottom of a coal mine.

i'm using teamspeak and roger wilco.  i think roger wilco may be better.  for ts may cause some lag, but not sure as of yet.

we use teamspeak nowadays after finding RW was a little problematic for some people running it behind a router...
teamseak 2 is great..sound quality is awesome, tho..if yu are on modem or isdn i'd stick to RW as TS on good quality will lag you to #### on a slower connection..and it sounds crap on a low quality setting...before you say TS is rubbish, have you tried version 2? version 1 I agree was wank but version 2 is the muttz nutz

Haven't tried it but I heard from several who have and they said it's quality is severely lacking.

I use TS right now. Maybe getting back to my old clan. Most voice chat progz suck. I'm getting performance drops and it's hard to hear everyone. Especially when the server has 12 players in it. No lag though....
