What is the future of SOF2, is it growing or dying? Are we happy with the support and patches or are we just ungrateful Sods? Perhaps we are spoilt for choice. I would love to see more weapons and maps not out of greed but out of curiosity and variety. You do kind of get sick of seeing 65% + of all players using the AK and M4. KAM2 again anybody?

I do not believe SOF 2 will ever reach the popularity that Counter Strike has enjoyed. In my opinion Soldier of Fortune 2 is the superior game, but Counter Strike is a free add-on for a game almost everyone who's been gaming for the last 4 years owns.

I think if Raven keeps pumping out patches with little add ons each time, like more voice commands, new weapons, some new maps etc.
In the long term I think it will eventually become as popular as Counter Strike, just as long as Raven keep the support going.

It may last if people actually play man down mod. After playing it on one of the 8 servers running it I have issues playing the normal version. This game needs serious revamp of loadout selection allowing for diff item selections and silencers for other weapons etc... Also really wish you could climb ledges, thats what makes Urban Terror mod for Q3 so awesome.....

Maybe a totally hyped add-on, not just a patch, would get it as big as CS, with a very good marketing team behind it. Otherwise I don't believe that it will ever get as big.

im thinking along the lines of mods. If persented well and bought some new action of game play of some sort, then yes.
Other than that. I hope the kids stay at cs.

sof2 might get to CS popularity, however that would require it to get distrubuted freely and the weapons/maps to be at least doubled otherwise no way.

i vote for less maps.  i still haven't learned half of the newest maps(and don't really have a desire to).  too many maps, is overkill(except for the lifeless loosers that just play sof2 all day and do nothing else)
