I've got the urge to do some mapping, but I find it all a bit lonely without some baddies to kill and maim. So I was trying to set radiant up to get NPC's, but I just cant figure out whats going wrong. I have added the entry into the .qe4 file, and I've checked all the paths point to the right spot, and made sure the files are there. One thing I don't have, and I've downloaded the sdk update, is radiantsp.bat. I made my own which launches the sof2.qe4 single player project, but thats all it does. Am I missing something in here? And does radiant always take 4 hours to load now  :s31:  ok, maybe 30-40 seconds but c'mon thats a long time for an impatient person like me :s31:  :s23:  :s21:  :s31:  :s11:  :s32:

i havent tried single player mapping myslef but im sure you add npc's via the entity list (right click on grid area) npc's wont show up on the list unless you have the single player sdk. im not sure where you get this but try asking in the multiplayer forum. this forum can be a bit quiet if you want a fast answer  :p

Thanks for your reply

Supposedly you are meant to add a line to your .qe4 file:

"npcpath" "path\*.npc"

Then you extract your npc files from the pk3's into that path.
Then you right click in the gridded areas to drop entities (I suppose this is still how it works, I'm yet to get an npc list)

Go to your C:\SOF2SDK\bin and open the sof2sp.qe4 file in a text editor. Make sure you are opening sof2sp.qe4, not just the sof2.qe4 file. If you can't find this file, you have probably set up the SDK incorrectly.

Scroll down till you see the npc tag. Make sure it reads like this:

"npcpath" "C:\SOF2SDK\base\npcs\*.*"

make sure you unzipped the .pk3's into your sdk folder and you should be good to go.

To add them, just right click in an orthogonal view in Radiant and select NPC. Scroll to select the one you want.

If you want to use confused entities, like bottles which explode when you shoot them, make sure this path is correct:

"confusedpath" "C:\SOF2SDK\base\confusEd\*.*"
