Evenbalance has put out a beta for new dll's to fix the problem.  You must not have the game running to continue this procedure. Please use
your computer's explorer program to find the "pb" folder where the game is
installed. Inside the "pb" folder, please make a backup copy of the pbag.dll
and pbcl.dll files. Then download new ones to replace them from the
following URLs:
http://www.evenbalance.com/sof2/pbag.dll
http://www.evenbalance.com/sof2/pbcl.dll
After the 2 files are downloaded, you should attempt to play normally.
Please reply with feedback after you have played long enough to get a feel
for how these new builds work out for you. If you find that the old files
worked better, then you should delete the newly downloaded pbag.dll and
pbcl.dll files and replace them with the backups you made in following the
instructions above.

Hey!  Those were evenbalance's words, not mine!

When attempting to play with PB enabled, on PB servers, my system would lock-up after I would take ten steps! Don't know if it will help anyone else but it worked for me. Thanks, now I can stop pulling my hair out. lol. Nice to be playing again.

nope..  buggy still freezes ..

well, i joined a pb server right after installing..  and it worked great
only prob is i had a high ping, so i left to join a diff server..  and got the dreaded '0 cvar violations'..
and has been same since

So is this the awnser to my question  "my comp freezes and just plays same sound over and over again at random times while playing multiplayer till i have to cut the power, how do i fix this?"  ??

Less not forget all the crap we went through with SOF1...Uh Invalid Cd key, No PB whatsoever, crappy servers... JEESE people chill the "F" out! PB will be fixed Raven will patch the game 5 more times and then you all will be sick of the game and move onto something else!! hehheeh
