I’ve tried the Micro Uzi solidly now for about 2 weeks using after using nothing but the pump shotty as my secondary for months.  I wanted to see if it offers a realistic alternative to the pump shotty as a secondary weapon.  So, my weapon of choice for close quarter rushes, tight corridors, 1vs2+, etc…

Basically, I can’t make it work.  1v1s aren’t as certain, and I’ve found myself using the AK when I’d have used the pump shotty, going around tight corners, and such…if I wasn’t ‘trying’ the Uzi.  My score is also suffering, mostly because I’m not winning as many 1v1s with the Uzi as I did with the shotty.

Is anyone using the micro Uzi, successfully?  If so, how?  I like the sound and the rate of fire; sometime it’s ok, but just barely.  If you’re using it successfully, what’s your technique?

I’m tired of trying it, but the pump shotty bores me silly, so I’m dreading going back.  Although pump and jump’s kinda fun.

Or, is everyone just using the pump shotty as their primary secondary?

it does apper that way :p

but the uzi can be quite effective (it certinly is not in the same legue as the pump shotte which can give primaries a run for there money),

the thing to rember about the uzi is it uses the lovely 9mm ammo that almost stops movement so it has a grip of death and is best used when the person is not expecting it,
and while ur wating on it killing them dont stand still but dont jump either, unlike the shottie the uzi is affected by jumping

Also, remember to always aim at the neck and use it like you're painting.

I have noticed people tend to back up when you come face to face unexpectedly because of the rate fire of the Uzi, but if they know what they’re doing they either:

back up -  in which case the Uzi’s spread means it’s basically random and you’re best off aiming for the chest/neck (cheers fragger). If you take time to switch to the AK , you’re dead.  So back up yourself.

Jump and pump – in which case I find it best to swing behind them from where they jumped, facing where they’ll land (it’s not Q3 physics…so you can kind of predict, unless they bounce of something, but I already can guess if/where they might have…), but this only works on servers I have a ping in 30ish range.  Which is a lot of servers, but being able to do things as a lpb isn’t really the point…

I'm a sniper and I often use the micro uzi on maps like HK etc.

Its very easy to use it, cause it is very inaccurate.

Just jump like a bunny all the time while unloading your clips.
So you can avoid the shotty, if he misses 9 times :p, you'll win definalty

Uzi is fun, but doesn't compare with the pump for effectiveness.  Any primary except the sniper is better in CQB vs the pump than the micro uzi.

The basic tactics for it are the same as the Mac 10 in CS tho- hold down the trigger, circle-strafe and aim HIGH.  Uzi kills are good fun when you can get them.

Keep the pump shotty as secondary unless your Primary is sniper rifle.

The pump shotty is an instant kill (if aimed at body), and the chance of a headshot is muchly greater. Micro Uzi is beasty with a nice steady ping and a steady aim (prefrably at the torso)

Thats my advice, seems to work well for me :)

I always use the UZI when I snipe.  Pump shotie for all others.

I'm pretty good with the UZI even at medium range battles.  Burst fire and aim for head.   ;)

The Uzi is great for "shocking" your opponents, the high ROF allows you to take out shotgunners pretty easily.

I agree with Firestorm.  It  scares/shocks em when you whip the Uzi out, their expecting the shotgun.  I do a lot of strafing side to side and a steady even fan.  Like Fragger said, use it like a paint brush, back and forth.  :)
