Just wondering if you guys/gals would download a big map file. How many mb would you be willing to download. Becuase I have something in the works, and its going to be pretty big. Its a very good map. Nothing like what you have seen before as far as detail, and atmosphere. Screenshots are coming soon. But in the mean time, let me know what you think.

i think its the content that matters, i wont download 20meg of crap but if its good i will

Raven is almost 9 megs, and that's just the bsp.

i dont care the size...... plus im workin on a full mod and so far its about 11mbs.... i`m workin on makin it smaller
     

Generally I don't like large maps ( physically, not file size ). I spend more time running around looking for someone than playing. But if the file size is from being detailed / custom content (that doesn't suck ) I'm all for it.

Thats it, the map isnt huge, but it has a ton of detail. And it runs smooth.

BSP files compress a fair bit in a pk3... something like 4 to 1, so BSP size isn't a big issue when downloading (even on modems) unless it is bloody huge... i.e. a 15-20+ MB BSP file.

Yeah, kinda the same thing. I dont mean the map file size per say, but the whole pk3 file.

If it's done by a respectable mapper (check)
Based around an original idea and a great film (check, if you're talking about your Thing project )
And has details that'll blow your tits off (pardon my french) (most likely check) then yeah I'm download even if it's huge!
