Hi fellows, I have a rather intriquate problem. I used to run my server on a Pentium Pro 200 (Compaq Proliant server) with 1 gigs of ram and a raid disk system running NT4, and it worked rather fine. Did not have much trouble with lagging and such... Then I moved it over to a brand new Dell server with Intel Pentium III 1133 MHz processor and half a gig of ram and no raid disk system running windows 2000 server. Now I am experiencing real problems with lagging...
We can connect and play for a while, then suddenly people are getting lag. Then, when they disconnect and try to get in again, they can't connect at all...

Why is this happening? Anyone got an idea?

could be the ram  ??? since u now only have half

Why is your sv_fps at 50? Put it back at 20 where it should be. I'm running an 1800 with a half gig of ddr and I wouldn't set that at 50.
Who told you to set that at 50?

um, can't remember who told me to set it to sv_fps to 50... What does it do?

Anyway, to answer the first reply aswell, I use the same config as before, yes... Just copied the config files across to the new server... Will put sv_fps back to 20 and see how it goes... Thank you

Just a guess, but you wrote your config with an old version of SoF2 Runner, didn't you? I had Aphex change that to 20. ;)

That's correct, I made the config with an old runner...

But, does anyone know what the setting sv_fps does?

its ment to be the amout of snapshots that can be sent to the clients, but non of the major servers have it higher than 20 and they all work fine. most clientshve the receving version of that less anyway so it would not acomplish anything
