Ya, no ####.....the guy was looking for a little help and he gets a smartass: "Did you install the drivers specific to your video card? Or did you assume that since you could see the desktop the card would work with everything?" i have the same problem and yes I "assume that since you could see the desktop the card would work with everything?" So, im an idiot, I don't know how to decifer driver types...i guess I should be killed...but anyway, Where can i find said driver if i use the piece of #### 'Win ME'? And how can I ask without feeling like ill just be made fun of? |

Depends on what kind of video card you have Hustler. If its an nVidia based card (Geforce, TNT2, Geforce 2, Geforce 3 etc) then you need to go to http://www.nvidia.com and download the detonators for your OS. If you have an ATI card then you should go to http://www.rage3d.com/ and get your drivers there. Or if you have an older ati card you might try http://www.ati.comThe reason Fragger came across that way is that many people come to the forums after just installing Windows XP (which has basic drivers for most cards) so their desktop looks fine, and is in 16bit or 32 bit color rather then 256 like older versions of Windows. Unfortunately for users new to such operations... the XP drivers suck for anything other then web browsing/email as they have no OPENGL support. OPENGL is what #### near any game out now will want to run in, or at least look the best in. So you need to download and install current drivers for your card. Depending on the manufacturer, new video drivers can come out very regularly... sometimes monthly. |
