Ever since I installed the 1.02 patch i have had trouble getting into servers. I either get "Punkbuster has to be enabled to join server" or "server mismatch error 1.01/1.02". Every now and then I get lucky, but usually not. I have looked in console, it says version 1.02. I have enabled punkbuster, though doesn't seem to make difference. My update.pk3 files don't have any ~ in them. I have reinstalled the patch. Please help!!! specs - PIII-667, 512ram, nvidia geforce2, cable modem

Check to make sure you have file names update101.pk3 and update102.pk3 I know u said you have your update file without a ~ but check it anywayz. If your file names are correct sorry dont know what else to say.

yeah, files are ok. thanks, though. even ran wiser2, which came back clean. next step will probably reinstall game and patches, unless anyone else can help. surely i am not the only one with this problem?!

Make sure to delete the SOF2 folder after you uninstall it. If you have an custom binds in your .cfg file, make sure to back it up first, then delete the whole folder. I had a problem with the patch at one point and did the complete reinstall thing. Worked like a charm

go into folder and find the update~1.pf3 and get rid of it.
then reinstall 1.02. :s32:

after this go intro MP and make sure PB is enabled then select get new server list. NOT refresh!!!!!
that is what worked for me....! :s28:

Just a double check, but make sure that in the server browser in game, at the top, it says "Punkbuster: Enabled". If not, click on the disabled to make it enabled. Thats my guess at what your problem is.
