I'm coming back to SOF2 after a little hiatus - cool, there's a new patch out.

Pity - can't get onto any server, though.

I was hoping someone can help me out.  I tried the search option, but its INOP.  My apologies up front if this ticks anybody off...

The patch didn't take right away.  It kept telling me that it couldn't find a valid copy of SOF2.    I found on these forums some advice saying extract it (as if it were a zip file) to the base folder.  I did that.  They also said to make sure the update file was in a certain place.  I did that.  AND changed it to lower case.

When I try to join a PB-enabled server, the message in red says that only those w/ PB software can join.  Well, I patched it w/ 1.02. What gives?

I tried that /pb_cl_[whatever] entry in the console.  No joy.

It seems the sound files could be messing me up?  I have downloaded some sounds - I THINK.  But now I can't remember which ones are original files and which ones are mods.

What files do I need to have (minimum) to run sof2?

Also, I've got config files I don't want to lose - key commands and such.  I sure would like to NOT have to lose those - they were alot of work.

is the pb folder in the sof2 dir along with base etc

did u enable it from the server browser??

try reinstalling it, backup ur configs etc (it should nto overwrite them but just to be safe) install the original then patch it either with 2 or get the 1.00 to 1.02 patch

Okay, that's good advice - I will try that.  But one question - you mention enabling it from the server browser.  All I have is a client.  No servers here.  Unless there's one there and I don't know about it.  Could you expound a little on that?

As I mentioned, I went into the console and entered /pl_cl_enable and it had no effect.

I'll check for the PB folder location.  Is it named "PB"?

The server browser is where you look up a server to join.

There is *no* pb folder - the only files there are labeled:

Pb_eula.rtf
Pbag.dll
Pbcl.dll
Pbsv.dll

Where do I find that file/folder?

I can't enable PB from the GUI - clicking on it has no effect - it remains at "No".

When you unzipped the files, you forgot to check "Use folder names". Just put those files in a folder and name it PB.

I took all the new files, tossed 'em in a folder named "Pb" and now game hangs at the "loading" screen.

I'm thinking uninstall/reinstall - even though that's a pain in the keester.

So - can I go from 1.0 to 1.02 or do I need to put the 1.02 patch on, THEN the 1.02 patch?

Got it going - had to uninstall and reinstall.

All the patches found the right exe and everything - just a hassle having to go back in and put in settings and keymappings, etc.

Oh well.

It works.
