Okay first off with those specs 35fps sucks, and 80fps is bad. 1. Make sure Anti-Aliasing is off. 2. Start your own server and see what FPS you get. Also make a demo and benchmark your system. That way you can rule out a connection problem. 3. Run AGPMem from Nvidia. If it say less then 128MB Total [on a Ti 4600] then you need to do three things; get the lastest BIOS, get the lastest chipset drivers(VIA 4in1s), check the AGP Aperture setting in the BIOS. 4. Make sure all other drivers are up-to-date. 5. If all of the above are fine then you simply need to lower your graphics settings. -xmc (I'm getting tierd of typing the same thing over and over) |

AGPMem is saying you only have a 64MB video card. Look at this thread in the SP forum. I don't know what your lastest BIOS version is. Go to the Motherboard makers(Asus, Abit, Gigabyte, etc.) website for the latest BIOS and chipset drivers. If your computer is prebuilt(Dell, HP, Compaq, etc.) go to their website. AGP Aperture is in the BIOS, I've never personaly had to change mine, I think yours should be set to 128MB. Different BIOS have different ways to get in them. When your computer is first booting, listing your hardware, press the correct key. It should say something like "Press DEL for Setup". The most common keys are Del, F2, ESC, and F4. |

xmc I sent you PM to get just a little more info from you. thanks again Edit 30 minutes later. Ok I have switched my AGP setting to 256. It was that or 64. I had no 128 option. It seems to have worked cause the test now gives me 136****** Total and 128****** Free So I'm golden there. I also did update my BIOS. I didn't see a chipset driver update at Dell's site so no help there. Now with those memory changes and BIOS update, I was still seeing lows of 40fps on Kam4 in a loaded (20+ peeps) server. But even at 40fps its still really smooth, no noticable slow down. Also my top end fps seems to have capped out. 115+ easlily. Like when I'm in a tunnel or hallway all by myself. So that's good. |

| Quote (nasdaq @ Oct. 08 2002, 12:33 pm) | ok If i wasnt clear about my frame rate as I said On average its 85 fps . It is higher at times . I have seen it hit 200+. I do have AA off Its the inconsistency from 200 down to 45 is what I’m referring to. I do have the latest drivers on all hardware components and bios updates for my sys board except for the video card . I will check the bios version for that. AGP aperture is set to 128 Also will check the agpmem option |
drop your max fps down(com_maxfps I believe). IMO anything above 130 is just wasting bandwidth, and causes big variations in frame rate. I set mine to 105 and it stays pegged at 111 most of the time. |
