I don't know what your lastest BIOS version is. Go to the Motherboard makers(Asus, Abit, Gigabyte, etc.) website for the latest BIOS and chipset drivers. If your computer is prebuilt(Dell, HP, Compaq, etc.) go to their website.
AGP Aperture is in the BIOS, I've never personaly had to change mine, I think yours should be set to 128MB.
Different BIOS have different ways to get in them. When your computer is first booting, listing your hardware, press the correct key. It should say something like "Press DEL for Setup". The most common keys are Del, F2, ESC, and F4. |
If you have 128MB of RAM, AGP Aperture should be set to 64 (And get more RAM)
If you have 256MB of RAM, AGP Aperture should be set to 64 (And get more RAM)
If you have 384MB of RAM, AGP Aperture should be set to 128
If you have 512MB or more of RAM, AGP Aperture should be set to 256.
I ran that app on my 64MB, GF3Ti200 and it said I had... 268435455 Free 263121373
I'm using system memory for Video since I have 512MB RAM I can get 80fps, but like everyone else, some maps just kill my machine.
If the models for SOFII are the same models for Q3, the engine draws a maximum of 72 frames of movement per model.
Therefore, getting more than 72fps is unnecessary.
I lock mine at 85fps, this reduces dropped frames due to connection, and CPU/Video processing strain.
A tiny bit of warping (dropped frames) takes place on some maps, but it's always consistent when it does; and can easily be compensated for.
--------------------- Use for the tempory relief of fragmentation sickness 1 or 2 times a day. Results may vary. |

Well my video card has faster memory then my system memory, so I'll stick with 64MB aperture.
Having your FPS drop down to 40 is NOT normal on a GF3 Ti and GF4 Ti, no matter what map it is. |

This may very well be true.
I have been unable to determine why it happens though. It usually occurs on servers with 10-16 players per side. I'm on cable, so it shouldn't be latency.

Ok, this is probably going to sound like a stupid question, so flame away if you feel the need.....Does this program work for NVidia cards only? Or is it compatable with my ATI?
Thanks |
