i hope someone can help..

i recently upgraded my MOBO to an asus and decided to do a clean install of XP while i was at it.  i also picked up a cordless keyboard and mouse for use away from the comp.

my mice get auto detected, and installed, and the logitech "mouseman" software that gets put in won't let me use my mouse wheel or thumb buttons in sof2!?!

if i've got sof2 running in a window, with my mouse configuration thing out, i can go into controls in sof2 and it will recognize mwheel up and down.  when i hit alt enter, it dusn't recognize it.

i'm still usin my corded mouse for games, and i liked the way it USED to work.

any help?

you don't need a mouse to do anything in windows.  it just makes things easier by having a mouse.  you can still log in.

I bought a 5 button Pro Optical mouse from Microsoft and all I did was turn off my Dell, unplug old mouse, plugged new one in USB port in back, restarted, and the windows optical drivers worked just fine.  On the box it even said it was specifically made for Windows 2000 but it works fine for XP also.  :D  :s27:  :s27:  :s32:

Hm.... I want my binds too work,
I understand that Logitechs drivers are the root to all evil, But i run WIN ME and get a two button mouse if I remove mouseware.

Who is to "Blame" for this problem, Is it the game makers (Raven) or Logitech who are the key to the solution?

I did not buy a MX500 just too look at it...=(

I use the Logitech Mouseware (version 9.60) with Win98se and it works fine.  I had to open the mouse properties from control panel, go to the Buttons tab, and check the box for Use MS Office Compatible Scroll Only (and NOT check the box under that says Scroll In Active Window Only).  I also set the middle button to Autoscroll, and also checked the box Use MS Office Compatible Scroll Only for this button by highlighting this and clicking Modify.
