Anyone know if it is possible to add cutscenes to a MP level that will trigger at the start of a map and/or at the end depending on the outcome of the match... all without having to load a new BSP?

I highly doubt it is possible but I was thinking about it recently.

Just poking around in ui_main.c in the code and found a bunch of stuff which shows cinematics:


case UI_MAPCINEMATIC:
     UI_DrawMapCinematic(&rect, scale, color, qfalse);
     break;
case UI_STARTMAPCINEMATIC:
     UI_DrawMapCinematic(&rect, scale, color, qtrue);
     break;

Basically it seems to display a .roq file from what I gather.

Does anyone know how this works and if it can be used to show cutscenes?

A .roq is just a movie file. Search fileplanet if you want to find the roq compiler.

DOD added cutscenes to Half-Life MP so it is do-able with code, but i doubt it can be done without custom coding.

yea you can make it play .roq files using a console command (i did it in elite force) but you need source code changes to make it do the console commands on loading the map
