I have just discoverd that my system only meets the minimum req'd standards of the game.  And therefor it looks and runs like sh*T.  Now i am willing to upgrade my CPU, Ram, and Vid card.  Any suggestions on what would make this game run perfectly w/out draining my wallet?
Thnx
I was thinking athlon 1.5ghz and a geforce card..

if you can bulid it your self.
pricewatch.com
Part - AMDXP2000) Price: $87

GeIL 512MB PC2700 333MHz DDR SDRA True PC2700 DDR333 6ns chip notoverclocked 184pin unbuffered 6 layer PCB, Industry JDEC standard. CAS 2 CL2 Price: $125

ATI ORIGINAL ATI Radeon 9700 Pro- Graphics Card - 128MB DDR SDRAM - 8x AGP - Dual Head - DVI - TV Out - Retail Box Price: $309

just a few prices i was looking at... if your going to build an AMD system definatly start with a good 400+watt or more quality power supply unit... AMD is dirt cheap( relative to intel) and kicks but in gaming.. right now the ati 9700 pro is the only card that could play sof 2 with all the bells and wistles on....my ti4600 lags some  had to turn down some settings(no AA etc)

Well, before you solicit help, why don't you let us know what your budget is.  Thats what it will come down to in the end.  How much you want to spend will dictate how far up you can go from where you are at, hardware wise.

SoFII runs like a dream on my:
CPU - P-IV 1.7
RAM - 768mb PC-800 RDRAM
MB - Intel 850GB
VC - GeForce 3

And I built this machine over a year ago now.  I will be putting together a new rig in the next couple months to replace my current "primary" box.

Depends on your technical ability and budget. Building your own is the definitely the cheapest option if you have the time to do it.

If you do decide to build, Intel machines are a lot easier to get to work than AMD. AMDs are faster, but require a lot more cooling.

If you don't build, get a Dell. Avoid HP/Compaq. Be wary of Gateway.

I actually had my own business building computers for friends. a couple of years ago.. but i lost interest when i got into the film industry.  Now im lost with all the new hardware thats out there.. Yes i am capable of doing it all myself.

I have another question.  If i were to upgrade my cpu and ram significantly.  WOuld my 32mb tnt2 card give me nice clear graphics? :s8:

Nope. You'll have tearing.

Had it. Ditched it.
