I have a terrain patch as the ground and a road patch as a road on the terrain, but i cannot get the road and the terrain to match up so there isn't any space between them, but also so that they don't do the double texture viewing thing where brushes overlap. Can someone help me out???

After selecting the road try hitting Y button. there are some things in there like flatten, and other junk. I am new to making maps too, but I think that is where the answere is gonna be. If your road is straight you could always cut out the space and delete it and stick the road right in its place. but if there is a bend in the road then that would prob. be impossible to cut a matching shape. hope that helps.

I have some road that I am working on trying to get to match terrain. I have tried "thickening" the patch and then sinking the thicker patch into the terrain. It looks ok until you light it... then the sides cast shadows and look strange.

I then decided that I would lay an alpha texture patch over the top of the road to hide the edges(snow map)... This left even worse looking shadows.

So now I have deleted the road and am in the process of cutting my terrain, aligning verticies, and welding the whole thing together... when this is done I will re add the alpha.

This method takes MUCH longer but looks better when its done and is probably the most efficient way to do things.

Hope this helped...
